Mass Media: means for delivering impersonal communications to a vast audience. The team uses the mass media for press releases and occasionally for help identifying a victim.

Personality: a person's fairly consistent patterns of thinking, acting, and feeling. Agent David is said to have a calmly aggressive personality. She thinks things through and isn't afraid to get in people's faces.

Peer Group: a social group whose members have interests, social position and age in common. The NCIS team is it's own peer group revolving around their common job.

Formal Operational Stage: The level of human development at which individuals think abstractly and critically. The team is all in the Formal Operational stage, because they have to use very critical and abstract lines of thinking when solving a murder.

Self: The part of a person's personality composed of self-awareness and self-image. Abby has a great sense of self; She expressed herself through her style and what she wears, but acts contrary to the popular belief about goths; She's generally a very happy person, and doesn't care what others think.

Looking-Glass Self: A self-image based on how we think others see us. McGee is viewed as somewhat of a nerd by some of his peers, and sometimes bases his behavior off that viewpoint.
